Ajrakh Print, one of the oldest hand block printing techniques (dating back to 2500 BC) is now being practiced and preserved by artisans in Gujarat, India. Characterised usually by bright red and deep indigo colours, these prints incorporate jewel-like patterns which symbolise elements of nature such as stars and flowers.

The designs are individually hand printed making each piece unique. Colour shading and print imperfections are inherent to the process and add to the beauty of each piece.
